Why education marketing is different
Two buyers, one decision
The student chooses, the parent pays. Pages and ads have to answer both: results and fit for one, fees, safety and distance for the other.
Admissions run on a calendar
Demand spikes around results and admission windows. Campaigns built during the peak start too late.
Strict rules on minors
Google and Meta limit how ads reach under-18s, and India’s DPDP Act adds rules for children’s data.
Enquiries need a fast reply
A counselling call booked within minutes beats a perfect brochure sent tomorrow.
Distance decides
For coaching and schools, most students come from a few kilometres away, so Maps and local search carry the weight.
Trust is built in public
Reviews, results pages and faculty profiles are what parents check before they call.
The channel mix that works
Google Search
Course, exam and “near me” searches, with ads that show batch dates, fees and location.
Google Business Profile
The map listing parents see first, kept complete, with photos, posts and replies to reviews.
Meta Ads to parents
Ads aimed at parents and adult learners in your catchment, by age band and location, with lead forms or WhatsApp.
Admission landing pages
One page per course or batch: dates, fees, results, faculty and one clear next step.
SEO and AI search
Answers to the questions parents ask, so you show up on Google and in AI answers.
Follow-up that converts
Calls, WhatsApp and reminders until the counselling session or campus visit is booked.
Rules to plan around
- Google does not personalise ads for signed-in users under 18. See Google’s ad-serving protections for teens.
- Meta lets advertisers reach users under 18 by age and location only, after changes Meta made in February 2023.
- Section 9 of the DPDP Act, 2023 requires verifiable parental consent to process a child’s data, and bars tracking, behavioural monitoring and targeted advertising directed at children. A child is anyone under 18.
- The DPDP Rules for consent and children’s data take effect on 13 May 2027. Plan forms and audiences for it now.

Frequently asked questions
What kind of education businesses do you work with?
Coaching institutes, schools and preschools, colleges and training academies, and education services. Education is our largest sector: 8 of the 23 businesses on our client list, including coaching institutes in Kalyan and Thane.
Can we run ads to students under 18?
Not in the way you target adults. Google does not personalise ads for signed-in users under 18, and Meta lets advertisers reach teens by age and location only. Most education campaigns therefore target parents, plus adult learners where the course allows. Our guide to marketing to students under 18 covers the detail.
Does the DPDP Act affect our enquiry forms?
Yes, if you collect data about students under 18. The Act requires verifiable consent from a parent and bars tracking, behavioural monitoring and targeted advertising directed at children; the rules for this take effect on 13 May 2027. Design forms to collect the parent’s details and consent now. This is not legal advice.
When should a coaching institute start admissions campaigns?
Before the search peak, not during it. Start building tracking, landing pages and reviews a few weeks ahead of your admission window, so campaigns are learning by the time parents and students start searching.
How much does education marketing cost?
Our performance marketing retainer is ₹40,000 to ₹2,50,000 a month, plus ad spend paid to Google and Meta directly. A new or rebuilt admissions website typically costs ₹35,000 to ₹3,00,000. See pricing.
